The EFCC has declared Buhari’s minister wanted.

According to the Hanto Daily News, Sadiya Umar Farouq, the youngest minister in President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, has been declared wanted by Nigeria’s anti-corruption agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Umar Farouq, 52, who worked in the newly formed Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development, has been sought for alleged abuse of office and diversion of public funds.

In a notice posted on the agency’s official website on Saturday, the EFCC asked anyone who could help trace her to contact the agency.

The notice further stated that Farouq, 52, is a Zamfara State native whose last known residence is EN008, Okpo River, off Agulu Street, Maitama, Abuja.

“Anybody with useful information as to her whereabouts should contact EFCC offices.”

On April 16, 2026, a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in Apo, Abuja, issued an arrest warrant for Umar Farouq.
