Due to Nigerian insecurity, Nsukka L.G.A diaspora offers powerful motorcycles for local security
The distribution of the donated high-powered motorbikes was done yesterday, 23.04.2026, with about 210 Neighborhood Watch officials in attendance; amongst them are 36 CSOs from the 56 communities of the 20 wards in Nsukka LGA.
The DPO and Area Commander were also invited and made their appearances earlier but had to leave for other pressing matters as urgently demanded by their operations. The sharing formula of the motorcycles took into consideration strategic areas that have experienced security flashpoints, especially at the border areas, to strengthen the security operations and its effectiveness.
Addressing the Neighborhood Watch before the distribution, the Nsukka LG Diaspora Desk Officer, Rev. Mike Maduabuchi Ugwu, informed the excited audience of joint members of the Neighborhood Watch, Anti-Cult, and Anti-Drug Units that the idea of the donation of these powerful motorbikes by members of the Nsukka diaspora community came from a genuine concern for the good, safety, and protection of our communities and the people. Secondly, to support the security architecture already established by Hon. Engr. Jude Chinedu Asogwa KSJI’s administration.
“The motorcycles, and of course, the super DJI MAVIC 4 PRO surveillance technology drone are expected to enhance mobility, improve rapid response, and boost surveillance efforts in these areas. It’s a commitment to safeguarding lives and properties across Nsukka LGA.” The beneficial communities in this first phase are Opi-Agu, Eha-Ndiagu, Anuka, Agu-Edem, and Agu-Obimo, which have previously recorded varying levels of security challenges.
There is need for stricter monitoring of the movement of these hoodlums at all entry and exit points in border communities. He assured the LGA Council Chairman, Hon Engr Jude Chinedu Asogwa, and the security operatives that the NSLGDD is mobilizing and working hard towards the second phase of her support. However, NSLGDD is watching and observing closely how these donated equipment are being effectively put into use so that the Forum can be encouraged to do more!!! “The motorcycles, and of course, the super DJI MAVIC 4 PRO surveillance technology drone are expected to enhance mobility, improve rapid response, and boost surveillance efforts in these areas.
