The English premier league returned over the weekend with some of our favourite teams already in action as they look to continue their battle for the English Premier league crown.
Arsenal vs Aston Villa
Arsenal continued their fine form when they hosted Aston Villa in their 9th premier league game of the season on Friday evening. The Gunners would emerge victorious from that encounter as strikes from Thomas Partey, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and youngster Smith Rowe gave the North Londoners a convincing 3-1 win over Aston Villa who succumb to their second defeat in a row.
Chelsea vs Norwich city
Chelsea smashed seven goals past Norwich city when both teams did battle at the Stamford bridge staduim in match week 9 of the English Premier league on Saturday evening.
The Blues totally dominated their more inferior opponents as a hattrick from Mason Mount either side of goals from Hudson Odoi, Ben Chilwell, Reece James and an unfortunate own goal from Max Aarons condemned the premier league new comers to a whooping 7-0 loss.
Brighton vs Manchester city
Manchester City continued their impressive winning streak when they travelled to face Brighton at the Amex Stadium on Saturday. Pep Guardiola’s side picked off where they left off from their mid-week thrashing of Club Brugge as they hit four goals past Graham Potter’s men with Phil Foden brace, Ikay Gundogan and Riyad Mahrez all getting themselves on the score sheet.
Chelsea has now extended their lead at the top of the league table following their 7-0 win over Norwich city. Manchester city also climb up to the second position at the expense of Liverpool who drop to 3rd position on the log ahead of their blockbuster clash against 6th place Manchester united today.
