A quarantine hotel building has collapsed in Quanzhou, China at around 7 pm China time on Saturday trapping an unknown number of people under it.

According to the source, a rescue operation is underway, about 35 of the 70 have been pulled from the rubble of the five-storeyed Xinjia Hotel by the country’s rescue workers.

Videos posted online show emergency workers going through the wreckage in the southern province of Fujian.

Obinwannem news gathered that the collapsed hotel in Quanzhou was a designated quarantine place for people who are suspected of having #coronavirus or have been in close contact with #COVID19 patients. So far 28 people have been rescued.

No casualties could be confirmed as of the time of filing of this report, it is still not clear what caused the collapse or if anyone has died.
