The Presidency has said the limitation of movement in some states as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic will continue as long as experts find the lockdown necessary.
An initial order was issued for a 14-day lockdown in Lagos State, Ogun State and the Federal Capital Territory to curb the spread of the virus.
Some other state governments have also declared curfews to curtail movement while enforcing social distancing.
The Presidential Spokesman on Saturday, quoted Muhammadu Buhari as saying that the lockdown is a major attempt to ensure that the virus doesn’t spread like wildfire. He also recognized the efforts of Nigerians as well as the sacrifices made during this stay at home period.
