Futbol club Barcelona made it to the Copa del Rey semi-finals on Wednesday, courtesy of the tremendous efforts of French professional footballer Antoine Griezmann as the Catalans beat Granada 5-3 after extra time.
Granada led 2-0, but with two minutes remaining for end of normal time, Griezmann scored one goal (88th minute), and then set up Jordi Alba for a stunning equaliser in the 92nd.
Griezmann headed his team in front in extra-time only for Granada’s Fede Vico to make it 3-3 with a penalty.
Still, Frenkie de Jong’s finish and a thumping volley from Alba, set up by Griezmann, sent a relieved Barcelona through.
Griezmann said, “It was a brilliant, beautiful cup tie.” Whereas, the club manager Ronald Koeman affirmed his team’s “shortest route” to win the trophy is Copa del Rey. “A match and a result like this will feed our spirit and our strength,” said Koeman.
