Obinwannem News Christian community attacked in Kano, wife of Anglican Bishop kidnapped

It’s been reported that groups of Fulani Militia have invaded a Christian community in Kano state, looting and destroying everything in their path. Many were left injured and some are still missing including livestock and other valuables.

Sources close to the area say the marauders stormed the Gidan Mato Bari area in Kano province late Tuesday including the Anglican Diocese.

The wife of the Anglican Bishop of Bari Diocese, Mrs. Saratu Zubairu, and the Diocesan Secretary, Miss Deborah were kidnapped. The kidnapping terrorists have already demanded ransom.

Obinwannem understands there were prior security reports that Fulani killer herdsmen and bandits will attack some Local Government Areas in Kano state and as always, the security agencies failed to act to secure the lives and properties of civilians.
