The former Nigerian minister Oby Ezekwesili has said that debts owed to China by African countries, should be canceled, due to the catastrophic suffering the continent has endured and is still undergoing, due to the way China handled the Coronavirus pandemic.

Ezekwesili, who made this known in a piece written for the Washington Post, said that the time has come for the rich offending countries to pay for the consequences of their actions, which are greatly suffered by others.
