Shetima Yerima, the National President of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum has described President Muhammadu Buhari as a failure who is unfit to secure and pilot the affairs of the country as President, he went further to say Nigerians must not vote for presidential candidates supported by the current presidency under the platform of APC or PDP come 2023 election.
In an interview with the press in Kaduna, Yerima urged Nigerians to create a new political group that will be suitable for Nigerians to create new inteligent and honest leaders, stressing that Arewa Youth Consultative Forum under his leadership is working on creating a sound political group that will transform to political party, which will sponsor a presidential candidate, present Nigerians with fresh lease of life that differs from what all political parties in Nigeria can offer.
In his words: “Right from when Muhammadu Buhari was President-elect, it took him six months to appoint those that will serve in his government as his ministers, I knew that something was wrong because somebody who has been aspiring to be president since 2003 should have a template that will assist him to choose those that will work with him, but Buhari spent six months before appointing ministers and he ended up with the worst set of people as ministers in his government.”
He also noted further that both Bola Tinubu and the Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai are not qualified candidates for the 2023 presidential election.
He said , “In my life, I was severally penciled to be killed by government agents and military juntas, I was severally arrested and detained because of my belief that there should be democratic government or that Nigerians should be given dividends of democracy, I will not allow or be part of an arrangement that will pave way for Tinubu or a civilian dictator like El-Rufai to be president come 2023, also Atiku that wanted to be president in 2019 should go and rest.
“Southern Geopolitical zones thought IBB annulled June 12 for Northern part of Nigeria to continue it’s quest to be in power, they annulled Abiola’s election because of their selfish desire to remain in power, it has nothing to do with the Northerner who massively voted for Abiola and rejected Bashir Tofa even in Kano State.
Yerima continued by stating that he doesn’t have political role model in Nigeria that President Muhammadu Buhari was the man that naturally should be Nigeria’s Mandela because of the massive goodwill people gave him in 2015 but unfortunately, Buhari has failed, and in 2023 we may campaign on the basis of restructuring Nigeria so that power will go back to regions, slightly different from parliamentary also differently from the US presidential system of leadership.”
