Bruno Fernandez was all shades of amazing on Thursday night as Manchester United bashes Real sociedad in the UEFA Europa league round of 32.
The Portuguese skipper showed class as he netted twice in the second half to put the Spanish Sociedad under undue pressure. The Red Devils were under attack in the first half; albeit, the Spanish side did miss two clear chances to have scored.
The tide changed in the second half as Bruno Fernandez (whose form deterioted a bit in the EPL) stepped up to inspire teammates with a classic performance.
Marcus Rashford added another one to make it three, then four. The Spanish side later grabbed a consolation to ensure that the game ended 4:1 – in favour of the English team.
The Red Devils will return to England with high shoulders. Hopefully, they would draw ‘inspiration’ from their Europa league win to secure a win in premier league during the weekend.
They will have a return match at the Old Trafford to decide who progresses to the round of sixteen. With the Man United, just a step ahead of their Spanish counterparts, the future looks bleak for Real Sociedad.
