Reports obtained by Obinwannem News states that unknown gunmen kidnapped the Nasarawa State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Philip Shekwor.

The report confirmed that the gunmen stormed his residence at Bukan Sidi, in Lafia metropolis, in their large numbers on Saturday 11pm, and abducted the chairman to an unknown destination.

Eyewitnesses who were at the vicinity of the incident revealed there was a gun battle between Shekwor’s security men and the kidnappers before the eventual abduction of the chairman.

Also confirming the incident via a call with journalists, the Nasarawa Commissioner of Police Bola Longe said the force has reacted swiftly by deploying its personnels to different forest locations in the State to ensuring the safe release of the chairman.
