International Boxing Federation (IBF) Intercontinental champion Azinga Fuzile is just a step away from realising his dream of becoming a world champion.
The only hurdle between Fuzile and a world title is current International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-lightweight king Shavkatdzhon Rakhimov from Tajikistan, who he will face in an IBF junior-lightweight elimination bout at the Orient Theatre in East London on Sunday afternoon.
Azinga’s trainer Colin Nathan is confident his charge will prevail. The winner of Sunday’s fight will challenge reigning junior-lightweight champion IBF junior-lightweight Tevin Farmer from the United States.
Nathan, who won the 2017 and 2018 Trainer of the Year awards at the South African Boxing Awards, added that Sunday’s clash between the two unbeaten boxers is the biggest fight in South Africa in 2019.
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old Fuzile has admitted that Sunday’s duel with Rakhimov will turn out to be his biggest fight ever as he will attempt to register his 15th win.
