Obinwannem News Be resolute to defend Nnamdi Kanu Massob persuades Igbo leaders

Following the arrest of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB on Friday has urged Igbo political, traditional, and religious leaders to be courageous enough and defend Kanu.

Nevertheless, MASSOB demanded the release of Kanu, who was abducted and detained by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The association however, disagreed with the weekly sit-at-home order by the IPOB, noting it will inflict hardship and deteriorate the economy.

In a statement issued by the National Director of Information, Edeson Samuel, MASSOB advised Igbo leaders to emulate what Yoruba leaders did in the case of their own, Sunday Igboho.

He said, “Our leaders should emulate the eloquent and bold steps taken by the leaders of Yoruba Nation in Defence of their son, Sunday Igboho. MASSOB urge Igbo leaders to learn how to protect their own”.

The group however cited example on how president Buhari led government and Miyetti Allah protect terrorist Fulani herdsmen and armed bandits.

MASSOB however, acknowledged the eloquent efforts of Senator Eyinaya Abaribe for his quality representation of Ndigbo as well as notable Governors such as Samuel Ortom Governor of Benue State and Abia State Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for their reaction against the abduction of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
