Ex-governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has called on the Rivers State governor Nyesome Wike to be ready for national assignment after completing his second tenure as a governor in 2023.
He made the statement during the commissioning of the Rumuogba flyover in the Obio-akpor local government in the State.
Kwankwoso commended governor Wike for his relentless effort in making Rivers State a better place for all, as he continues to build more infrastructure, making the State a “better place”.
He said, “you have been working round the clock to make rivers State a better place for everybody . We have seen your project, and of course, we have reasons to come to Rivers State and go round to withness the development that are taking place here.
“I have seen the positive change you have brought to the State since you got to the office in 2015.
“Being a governor is a huge responsibility and you have spent six years with two years left to occupy the government house here in Rivers State before you move forward for the national assignment,” he added.
However, Wike in his address, said his team was committed to giving the best to Rivers State as the construction project to build a cancer and cardiovascular disease centre was said to commence in two weeks.
He explained that the inauguration of the Rumuogba flyover has left many people speechless, because they didn’t expect it accomplished.
He urged the rivers people to expect inauguration of five additional flyovers within the next one year, the fly over includes those in Rumuola, Ogbunabali GRA, Aba road, Rumukalagbor and Ikwere road- Olu Obasanjo.
