No fewer than more than 70 traders were reportedly abducted by Bandits travelling to Kano along the dreaded Birnin Gwari-Kaduna road on Wednesday.

According to reports gathered by Obinwannem News, the traders’ convoy
was attached by a number of bandits in the morning, who later took them away into the forests.

There was no official confirmation yet from the state or the police as of the time of the filing this report.
However, a local Malam Umaru said the traders were travelling in a convoy of over 20 vehicles with police escort but that their escort went missing.

He said the bandits struck near Udawa after Buruku in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna, saying that at least 70 traders from Umaru’s community and scores of others from neighboring villages were abducted.
