Following the Tuesday fire outbreak in the Balogun Dosunmu market on Lagos Island, a confirmed report by an eyewitness has stated that two persons have already been victimized by the inferno.

A policeman and an unidentified person were reportedly caught by the fire as the firefighter’s battles hard to put off the fire.

The policeman was said to have lost his life when a section of the building collapsed on him late Tuesday evening.

The sad news was reported through the twitter handle of Rapid Response Squad, RRS, @rrslagos767 at the late hours of Tuesday. The tweet reads: “We are still at the scene of the fire incident.

Though it has reduced to a reasonable extent, Efforts are still on to put it out completely. Partial building collapse occurred during the process which claimed the life a policeman from a nearby division.”

Meanwhile, it was confirmed that another unidentified victim had earlier been killed in the explosion.

The fire which was yet to be finally put out as at the time of filing this report, on Wednesday morning has spread to adjoining building with firefighters and other rescue team battling to prevent it from causing further damages.

Meanwhile, we were informed that the fire outbreak has destroyed goods that are worth millions. Although, more fire fighting devices have been deployed to fight with the already staged ones.
