ANOTHER YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMME AS UNDP PARTNERS Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development
On Tuesday, May 14, 2024, UNDP held a special session with the Ministry of Youth Development and some youth organisation leaders from Anambra State.
The conference was an introduction to a UNDP youth programme called YOUNG AFRICA INNOVATES PROGRAMME (YAIP), which was initiated by the MasterCard Foundation. While introducing the programme, the UNDP Team Leader reminded us that UNDP has a special interest in Anambra State because it is a creative economy and commercial hub. In her speech, she told us that if this scheme is successful, it will continue to bring smiles to the faces of Anambra youths.
While welcoming and appreciating the UNDP Team, the Commissioner of the Ministry of Youth Development urged Anambra youths to take advantage of this chance to empower themselves. He emphasised that more youth empowerment activities will be implemented in the State following Mr. Governor, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s agenda.
The following individuals attended the meeting: Commissioner of the Ministry of Youth Development, Hon Patrick Agha Mba, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Youth Development, Engr. Dr. Agbili Martin Onyedikachukwu, the Ministry’s Management Team, the UNDP Team led by Lady Chiwetalu Okosi, President of the ASATU Youth Wing (representing the 179 communities in Anambra State), Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Anambra State Chapter, Chairman of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Wing, Anambra State Chapter, other Youth Organisations, and the Student Union Government.
