Western security operatives, Ondo State, known as the Amotekun Corps, arrested about a hundred (100) cows and nine (9) herders for flouting the directives of the State regarding grazing rules.

This was disclosed by the Ondo State commander of Amotekun, Adetunji Adeleye, who said the herdsmen were intercepted along Akure, at the boundary of Osun and Ondo States.

He said, “Our men controlled the cows to the headquarters of our office, which was about 30 kilometers, from the point they were intercepted.”

According to him, the cattles were apprehended as a way of reducing crime, since they were actually blocking the major road leading to the state capital. He also revealed that most times kidnappers use it as a ploy to carry out their crimes; adding that they responded promptly as soon as a distress call was put across to them from one of the commuters whose car was blocked.

“We should take note that our men are in all the 18 local government areas and we are on 24 hours patrol. We arrived the scene promptly.

“The culprit who sighted us on arrival ran away as they control the cows to follow them, but we were only able to control them back,” he said.
