Tension lingers in Imo State as yet another Police headquarters in Ehime Mbano local government area, was set ablaze by thugs Tuesday night.
Obinwannem News gathered that operational vehicles were also razed.
Unfortunately, the attack on the divisional police headquarters, was coming less than 24 hours after the attack on the Owerri Correctional centre – the Imo state Police command headquarters – which reportedly led to the release of over 1,500 inmates; razing over 50 vehicles.

Notably, the attack came few hours the Vice President Yemi Osibanjo, and the just sacked Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, and other functionaries visited the state to inspect damages on the attacked security facilities.
Reports revealed that the gunmen were not challenged by the policemen during the operation. The former freed all suspects in detention before setting the police divisional headquarters ablaze.
Confirming the incident, the Imo State Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Orlando Ikeokwo said, “Ehime Mbano Division has just being attacked, no casualty on the part of police, no loss of arms, three vehicles was burnt.”
This rising tension in the State has raised a lot of concerns as many called upon the government to curb the menace before it causes more destruction.
