A special update: Mazi Kanu has been filed.
In the last few days, I’ve received numerous requests from well-wishers (both in Nigeria and overseas) asking whether MAZI NNAMDI KANU’s appellate brief has been filed.
I expressed these legitimate concerns to #MNK, and he directed me to now publicly report the following:
YES. The Brief has been filed; however, it is not the same form that was circulating on social media a few days ago.
What remains is for the government to join issues by filing its own reply brief, after which the Court of Appeal will schedule a date for the hearing of the appeal or adoption of the respective briefs in open court.
Once this is completed, the Court will intend to give its ruling within 90 days, as required by law.
