In Nigeria, agriculture serves as a source of livelihood for so many people. Because it yields riches to the country. Particularly village resident they work in their farms and wait for the result after a while.

Wikipedia described it as a science and art of cultivating plants and livestock, it is the key development in the rise of sedentary human civilization, and whereby farming of domesticated species created food surpluses that enabled people to live in cities.

The history of agriculture began thousands of years ago. “Agriculture was the first occupation of man as it embraces the whole earth, it is the foundation of all other industries”-Edward. W. Stewart. In older times, people get involved in polygamy because of agriculture.

They get married to plenty of wives and give birth to plenty of children to work on their farm by rendering help during cultivating beds. Agriculture started developing growth from our before civilization bridged the gap. And people started developing a choice in other jobs that can cater to their needs.

It can be segmented in different parts, it is not only planting activities that are referred to as agriculture. Thomas Jefferson said, “Agriculture manufactures commerce and navigation before pillars of our prosperity are the most thriving when left most free to the individual enterprise”.

Agriculture being the backbone of our economy also include livestock ranching where different animals are reared. The process of reproducing takes place and yield profit for the owner. Agriculture has helped lives in so many ways, people live longer by eating fresh cultivated food directly from the source, unlike today people don’t engage in farming activities anymore they want their food to be served to their table.

After stressing at the farm, the buyer might supply the plants for vegetables or foodstuffs like Yam, Maize, Garri, Cassava and so on very late, the food crop starts losing value and nourishment. It is regarded as one of the most significant contributors to the nation’s GDP as it provides millions of job employment opportunities.

Successful agricultural sector comes with greater maximum security by increasing national income and improved standard of living. Because 100% of our raw materials come from agriculture. Agriculture has helped Nigeria in one way or the other.

In a nutshell, Nigeria cannot live without the existence of Agriculture. People are not more involved in agricultural practice like before, due to impatience, people want quick money with less hard work. The major feature of agriculture is hardworking
