Obinwannem News 3 Things That Could Stop Manchester United Bad Form This Season

Manchester United was humiliated at Old Trafford on Sunday with a 5–0 defeat to the Jurgen Kloop’s Liverpool team, which extend their winless run in the Premier League to four games.

The latest defeat to Liverpool means that United remains on 14 points, and are now down to 7th position on the league table after nine games played so far.

The early hopes of competing for the Premier League title this season is gradually slipping off the reach of Manchester United, as they are already eight points away from Chelsea, who sit top of the Premier League table.

United are also three points away from the top four. Although they could still rescue their season in the Premier League this season, as there are still 29 more games to be played in this campaign, some things have to be done to end Manchester United poor form, as soon as possible.

So in this article, we will be looking at the three things that could be done to stop the bad performances of Manchester United.

  1. Sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Although, the Manchester United coach is not new to some series of bad performances at the club since he became their manager, which has always raised demands from the fans to relieve the Norwegian of his job at the club, the 48 years old would turn the situation around with a couple of good results, which in turn cool the issue of him getting sacked.

This time, it is looking likely that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might not get out of this one.
The Manchester United board supported the manager in the last summer transfer window to get top quality players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho, so as to help challenge for titles this season, but the situation of the club has gone worse than it was without those new players.

One major important decision that the United board need to take, so as to revive the Manchester United season before it gets too late, is to sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and bring a top quality manager that could utilize the potentials of the top players they have in the club.

  1. Sack Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

There is no doubt about the qualities that Paul Pogba possesses, but the French player has been more of a problem to all coaches he has played under at Manchester United, than a solution.
Pogba started this season on excellent form, registering several assists in the first four games, but his performance has dropped to almost nothing since the fourth week.

He was introduced in the second half against Liverpool, which he was dispossessed off the ball from the midfield, which led to Liverpool’s fifth goal, and he also made a reckless tackle to get sent off the game.

The midfielder feels like he is bigger than the manager and the club at large, which has been one of the problems why he haven’t sign a new contract extension at the club.
A player like Pogba deserves to be dropped from the team, while other players who will fight to be in the team, like Van de beek should be given more playing time.

  1. Sign A Top Quality Midfielder In The January Transfer Window
The lack of quality in the Manchester United midfield is part of the major problems they are facing this season, which has also contributed to their poor form.

The Manchester United midfield lack the ability to control games, lack creativity, poor link up play with the attackers, and also expose the defense too often.

They need to sign a proper central midfielder in the January transfer window, so as to help them get back on track.
