… Court adjourns till December 29

A Port-Harcourt division of the Magistrate Court has deferred a case brought before it by the police over alleged act of terrorism.

Chief Magistrate Amadi Nna, hearing the matter, against 21 perceived members of IPOB, said the very court lacks jurisdiction in furtherance of the case.

Furthermore, the court instructed that the files of the suspects should be forwarded to the Department of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.

Meanwhile, a lawyer for one of the alleged IPOB members (name unconfirmed) exonerated their client from the Obigbo violence, saying the police falsely accused the client.

“They were alleged to have committed a terrorist act but this is far from the reality. To the best of my knowledge, they are frame-up charges,” he stated

Adjourning the case till December 29, Magistrate Nna remanded the suspected persons at the Port-Harcourt correctional centre, and asked their lawyers to seek bail of their clients at the High Court.
