Released ex-terrorist kills his father, took away his two cows – Ndume
Following the deradicalization of alleged repentant Boko Haram terrorists, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, Senator Ali Ndume, has revealed how one of the repentant terrorists that was released by the Nigerian military murdered his father and made away with his two cows.
The lawmaker representing Borno South who has been speaking up against the operation Safe Corridor program made the disclosure in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics.
Recall that Obinwannem news in a recent report disclosed that the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), had reintegrated 601 ex-Boko Haram terrorists into the society, which includes fourteen foreign nationals from Cameroon, Chad and Niger.
Speaking during the interview with Channels, Ndume warned President Muhammadu Buhari government to rehabilitate Boko Haram victims instead of insurgents.
He said: “If the government is serious about a programme like this, it should start with the victims first and not the perpetrators”, he said.
“The so-called deradicalized are released into society, there is no monitoring device. One of them that came back killed his father and took away his two cows.”
