The Cameroonian government delegates and Ambazonian separatist leaders that were held in Yaoundé’s main prison have reportedly kicked off negotiations with the aim of achieving a ceasefire in the regions both the North -West and South-West parts of the country.

The negotiations which started since July 2, is between the government and the Ambazonian separatist leaders, Sisiku Julius Ayuk Tabe and others.

It was gathered that Sisiku Julius Ayuk Tabe, the leader of the Ambazonia, Wilfried Tassang and Blaise Shufai were escorted from their prison cells to meet Léopold Maxime Eko Eko, head of the Directorate General of External Research (DGRE) for the negotiation.

Meanwhile, representatives from the government include; representatives of the military tribunal, Léopold Maxime Eko Eko, to find out the terms set by Ambazonian leaders to an effective ceasefire in the regions and other departments.

Sisiku demanded a cease-fire to be publicly announced by President Paul Biya, military withdrawal from the northwest and southwest, declaration of a general amnesty for the Ambazonian prisoners, all of whom should be released.

However, Sisiku also agreed for a dialogue with the government but insisted that other negotiations can only be possible if the conditions are quickly met.
