Seventeen (17) governors of the Southern region meet in Lagos State, today July 5, to make deliberations regarding Nnamdi Kanu’s rearrest, and the recent attack by DSS, on the residence of the Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho.

This was confirmed by the Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, to the Governor of Lagos State, Sanwolu Babajide, who stated that the forum was expected to commence at the State House, Alausa Ikeja; hosted by Governor Sanwo Olu.

“The Confab, is to follow up the last meeting held on May 11, at Asaba Delta State.

“The discussions will ponder on reviewing the state of the nation as it affects the geopolitical zones.

“The meeting will also cover the issues on insecurity, true federalism, open grazing, state policing, restructuring, food security among others.

“The conference, will also deliberate on the level of achievements of the resolutions arrived at the last meeting, and chart the way forward.

“The main objective of the meeting is to further articulate a collective interest and reiterate commitment to a united Nigeria capable of guaranteeing equity, fairness and justice in an atmosphere of true federalism,” Akosile stated.
