A 10-year-old boy has emerged as the youngest Igwe in South East Nigeria following the demise of his father, Late King Olame 1 of Iyiora Anam.
According to the tradition in Iyiora Anam, a village located in the western part of Anambra state, an heir apparent to the throne takes over when the ruler dies, this would occur irrespective of the heir’s age.
The 10-year old Igwe Anam becomes the youngest Igwe in South East Nigeria, taking after his father, Igwe Onyeachonam Okonkwo, the Olame 1 of Iyiora who was also the youngest Igwe in Anam.
